Minnesota State Mankato Maverick’s football team will be playing in the Division ll NCAA National Championship this Saturday December 21, 2019 in Mckinney, TX. The Mavericks (14-0) will face off against West Florida (11-2) on will be televised on ESPNU at 2:00 pm on 12/21/19. Last year the Mavericks fell one game short of the National Championship game but hope to take care of business this week and bring the National Title home to Minnesota. Cade Johnson (#21 for the Mavericks) is a 3 year starter at defensive safety and has boasted impressive numbers through the three playoff games including 24 tackles and 2 interceptions. Cade Johnson is a native to Redwood Falls, MN and a brother-in-law to Thielen Coaches president Joe Thielen. Logan Josephson (#47 for the Mavericks) is also a Redwood Falls native and plays on the special teams unit for the Mavericks.
